Found in the shrubs

Oddish are shy little plants.

They are from a family called 'Floraphomorphids' plants that have evolved to have simple consciences and have the ability to think.
Oddish are similar to onions, but taste awful and have never been cultivated for food. If eaten raw they are poisonous but the vicious fluid they produce from their 'mouths' are treasured.
the fluid is similar to syrup form a tree, a combination of sugars and oils that lure insects, as in fact (same for many Floraphomorphids) they eat insects.

The insect is lured in, gets stuck on the sticky fluid and 'eaten' by the Oddish.

This however is not their only form of food as during the day they burrow into the ground. and absorbs water from the earth and light from the sun this is called photosynthesis.

Then at night they emerge from their hole and lure juicy insects to their peril. though this may seem sinister the Oddish are far from it and have been compared to have 'baby' like qualities when being trained, enjoying lots of attention and affection.
