Description

Diary of Professor Phillip Cardue, head researcher at the Kanto bio-genetics research lab. We are being funded by an unknown source by the name of TR Inc.

When we first got the call I was sceptical.
A tomb had been uncovered in a hidden part of a huge ruin in the Decurion Jungle.
The archaeologists told me that they had uncovered a mummified Pokémon body that they wanted me to look at.
Pokémon mummification wasn’t uncommon in ancient ruins but they said this was different; the tomb was built as if for a king or pharaoh.
I knew that the genes were quickly bio degrading because they had opened the tomb allowing oxygen to start to biodegrade the corpse, if I had any hope of getting a usable sample I had to get there quick.

I took a helliglider to the temple and found that they had blown the doors open with dynamite and were currently excavating large golden statues of Pokémon and humans.
I entered the tomb to find the room cold, very cold almost like a fridge which I knew could have saved me some time.
If the DNA was near refrigerated for this long it could have preserved it.

They had set up lights to fill the room and I told them to turn most off as it was heating the air. I only needed a bit of light for what I wanted to do.
The mummy was coved in a silk blanket, similar to something you might have seen in imperial burial.
I pulled back the sheet and it took my breath away.
I had been studying legendary Pokémon for a lot of my young life so I knew what I was looking at straight away.

The body was perfectly preserved, ritualistic bandaging had covered most of its body but I could see that it was already starting to decompose.
If I was correct, if I found a complete strand of DNA from this body... I could revive a living breathing... Mew.

It was seen as a God in early cultures and was thought to be the most powerful physic Pokémon ever to exist...
Many scientists believed that it was simply a myth, but some, like me believed they had gone extinct many years ago.
Here was my proof.

I scanned the body but too my horror I couldn’t find a full strand... but then suddenly the green light flashed and I found a strand left in a tiny follicle that had 97.02% complete DNA... I could bring it back. By adding a few core DNA strands I could bring this amazing creature back to life.

I collected my sample into a Petri dish and looked at it.
If I brought it back I could be rich beyond my wildest dreams, but, then I thought something I had denied all these years, is what I’m about to do, right?
Maybe this creature was extinct for a reason... and what could someone do with a creature this powerful if in the wrong hands...
Thoughts that plagued my dreams, but this was my life, this is what I was born to do and finding something this amazing would be the highlight of my career.

I bagged the body for further research and placed the DNA sample into deep freeze.

This was the beginning...

Hope you guys like it :) more to come.
